I have been interested in radio since the late 70's and spent several years as a SWL before passing the Radio Amateurs Exam in 1982 at the age of 16 . I still spend most of my time listening rather than talking ! Aside from Amateur Radio I'm also interested in utility and broadcast listening.

My Home QTH is near to the City of Southampton which is famous for its busy maritime port  and very close to the beautiful landscape of the ' New Forest ' National park. Due to antenna restrictions at my home QTH I currently run in the semi stealth mode. I also frequently work mobile / portable at several nearby locations in the Forest or by the sea front .

Queen Mary 2 - early morning arrival in Southampton

RX Kenwood R-5000 , Icom IC-R70 , Yaesu FRG-8800 + VHF + Tuner ,Yaesu FRG7,Yaesu VR500, Icom IC-R5, Datong FL 3 Filter ,BHI NEIM 1031 DSP and BHI NES10-2 MK3 DSP

Antennas - Multi Band Delta loop 80m - 6m, Multi Band vertical 40m - 10m + Attic mounted Fan dipole for 20/15/10/6metres

various Homebrew verticals for VHF / UHF

Homebrew Mag Loops and Wellbrook ALA1530+S Imperium active loop for RX

My other interests include playing guitar and keyboards  and if I have any spare time left ! I also enjoy Digital photography .

If you hear my 100W over the QRM - I look forward to working you on the bands in the near future.

Any reports from SWL's would also be very welcome via eQSL many TNX
