Hello there, thanks for taking a look at my page.
I'm located three miles north of the city of Nottingham, in the town of Arnold. ( WAB = SK54 )
Nottingham and its county are well known for the legend of Robin Hood and are also known for several industries such as;
the manufacturing of lace, Raleigh bicycles and Boots the chemist, amongst others.
The county also had large coal mining & beer brewing industries; both now sadly almost gone!
Life is shared with my wife Caroline & our daughter Olivia who was born July 2008.
As for radio; I've been licenced since 1994 but only active on the HF bands since 2004 although, what with work & family, not as active as I'd like to be!
My station comprises of - Icom IC7600 with either Heil PR781 mic or Pro Set Elite headset & SPE Expert 1K-FA amplifier.
Also in the shack is a Kenwood TS2000 with MC90 mic for VHF/ UHF and back up HF.
Antennas for HF are the Cobwebb: a nest of dipoles for 20 to 10M (see pictures further down the page) which is about 40 feet AGL
and a 92' Doublet (aka ZS6BKW) used for 80, 40M & 30M up about 35 feet.
For V/UHF just using an X510 vertical at the moment at about 40 feet.
Operations here are mainly HF SSB also of late been enjoying operating RTTY and PSK31 and also now trying out JT65.
I use Logger32 as my primary logging software to take care of the logbook, digi modes etc, and is linked to the dx cluster via CC User from VE7CC.
QSL is ok via LOTW & EQSL. Paper ok too, via the bureau or direct to above address, No postage required, just a self addressed envelope..
