Originally employed in large satellite communication ground terminal design, I am now retired and have been licensed since the late 1960's with initial interests in UHF and VHF.

My main interest is in constructing and operating on the microwave bands e.g. 1GHz and above, including the millimetre bands of 24GHz and above. But I do dabble a bit on HF and I enjoy the digital modes of PSK31, JT4G, JT65-HF and WSPR.
The only claim to fame was jointly holding the original UK distance record on 76GHz of 79kms for 11 years!
Other interests are building and flying radio controlled electric model helicopters.
The QTH is a Barton on Sea, a small coastal town between the major cities of Bournemouth and Southampton.
