Originally employed in large satellite communication ground terminal design, I am now retired and have been licensed since the late 1960's with initial interests in UHF and VHF.

My main interest is in constructing and operating on the microwave bands e.g. 1GHz and above, including the millimetre bands of 24GHz and above. But I do dabble a bit on HF and I enjoy the digital modes of PSK31, JT4G, JT65-HF and WSPR.

The only claim to fame is jointly holding the current UK distance record on 76GHz of 79kms!

Other interests are flying radio controlled  electric model planes and helicopters.

The QTH is a Barton on Sea, a small coastal town between the major cities of Bournemouth and Southampton.
