Began as SWL in the late 50's and continued throughout the 60's. Took Radio Amateurs Examination in 1969 and applied for a Class B licence and callsign.That was the normal progression back then. Never used the call G8DQP and let it lapse in September 1970 after passing CW test and getting Class A licence and the call G3ZQQ,which I use to this day.

I have just applied for and received my original G8DQP call: I intend to use it for casual contest operation and maybe some 6m activity. Any contest QSLs that arrive will be answered and some may be initiated by me.
