Hi,

Thanks for stopping by and looking me up. I'm known as Bob on the bands, and Robert if in trouble with the XYL, hi!

First licensed in March 1973 as a "B" class licensee(144 and UP). This was at my old QTH in Romford (JO01CN). I used a single 14 ele Parabeam on 144 and a 88 ele Multibeam for 432 on a 40ft Versatower.

In 1985 we moved to the current location in Billericay (JO01fo), and I upgraded the antennas to 2x15 ele Cue Dee for 144, 2x21 ele Tonna for 432, and 3 ele Cushcraft for 50, have added 70Mhz, a HB9CV at 4m. In October 2011 added a 28Mhz dipole at 3m to get on the band.

As of June 2012, the antennas have been replaced with a single ones. A 24 ele on 432, 11 ele on 144 and a 6 ele on 50, all LFA designs by G0KSC. See picture top right.

On 432 and 144 the feeder is EcoFlex 15 to minimise losses, the other bands use good coax, but not to the Ecoflex spec. Main rig is a Yaesu FT-847 HF to UHF TCVR.

My main interests are DXing and contesting on VHF/UHF. See table below. These have all been achieve with modest equipment using SSB only. I'm just starting to get into digital modes WSJT & EME.

QRV 10M, 6M, 4M, 2M, 70cms SSB only, at present, some WSJT capability at lower power.

Current totals are (18/11/2012) :-

BAND DXC ODX Distance(km) Grids wkd
28 81 YB1C 11789 150 (WAS = 33)
50 82 PY5CC 9842 464 (WAS = 11)
70 26 EA8YT 2929 75 (plus one crossband 70/50 with UZ5DZ in KN18)
144 43 EB8AYA 2946 259
432 22 US5WU 1666 114

Former employment:-

10/1967 - 03/2002 with GPO/BT as an Exchange Maintainence Technician, finally finishing on System X.

07/2002 - 05/2011 with HobbyCraft in Basildon.

06/2011 - Retired

QSL via Bureau (primary) or Direct (secondary). Please NO eQSL (I've unsubscribed as of 22/07/2011)because of the many many duplicates in the inbox, and it does not qualify for RSGB awards even with the AG status, sorry. I would prefer your card if possible.

I will QSL 1st QSO on any band/mode,NOT FOR ANY SUBSEQUENT CARDS. Please check your outgoing cards for dupes, I'm getting dupes from those using PC programs to do their cards. It wastes yours and my time and money. Thanks.

Any cards sent by above two methods will be replied to asap.

Around 2002-3 a lot of my cards (both incoming & outgoing) were lost due to problems with the sub-bureau for G8 calls. If you need a card for that period please send another card, and I will provide a QSL.
