Hi and thanks for looking me up here on qrz
i recently moved into the countryside so not much noise and fantastic views picture 05/04/2015
i run a simple station; FT2000 barefoot and a vertical gp
so if you hear me call in for a report/chat
My main interest on hf is cw and constantly trying to improve so bare with me if i struggle sometimes.
and also ssb
i also enjoy hillwalking so various sota activations are made.
and very involved with our local club Dundee ARC GS4AAF
i also have GM3D contest call
here are a couple of sota pics
for sota i run ft817 5w into resonant dipole
i was first licensed in 2009, thanks to Tom GM3NHQ & Dundee Club, after passing my full license i was then able to take my fathers call sign:
G0BKC SK 1998 so proud to be able to keep the call on the air, and since being licensed it has been a great pleasure bumping in to people from years ago that were good friends with my dad: G4YFD -Frank(SK) GM4WZD-Harry & Florance GM0CVD, G0GKY-Derrick, GM4WZG-Bernie and most recently bumped into ZL3XDJ- Brian on 40m cw and found out he was originally from the home qth in Billingham and knew my father well, what a small world,
i enjoy some of the contest, operated last year with GM0B CQWW SSB (it was great), a few times with the club so WPX - GS4AAF, and i will be active with the new call GM3D
i also try and get involved with special events, here is a list of some :
GBITAY- Historical bridges, GM100RSGB-Centenary, GB5C-Cashota, GB558VUL-Vulcan Bomber & also helped Norman(G7MRL) & Paul(GM0KMJ) with the lifeboat S.O.S week and operated GB1LBC in Silloth the last couple of years.
as well as SOTA activations i also enjoy other portable activities so you maqy hear me /p oftern
