Celebrating 42 Years Licenced Radio Amateur

Started as a SWL at the age of 10 years in 1966. First licenced in 1971 at the age of 14 years I have been involved in amateur radio for 47years. Originally licenced as G8FHU I have held the callsigns G4CFS, GW4CFS, VP8CRN, ZB2/GM4CFS, IT9/GM4CFS and EA8/G4CFS

I enjoy operating on all bands using SSB, CW and Digi modes. I have recently become addicted to 6m and have spent a lot of time improving my set-up. I am usually found around 50.230 Mhz at the moment working meteor scatter with JT6M & ISCAT. I also enjoy operating via the OSCAR amateur satelites. In addition I also operate SSTV using MMSSTV software. BPSK31 and RTTY using MixW and all the JTWS modes especially JT65HF.

My current station consists of:

HF - IC-756 with a HF5B Beam and Doublet

6M -IC-7400 plus preamp with 5 element yagi

Satellite -TS-2000E and a 2M 4 element / 70CM10 element combi and SSB/Microset masthead preamps

Member of UKSMG, AMSAT, AMSAT UK, EPC, 30MDG, BCS amongst others.

REMEMBER - ITS NOT A HOBBY ITS AN OBSESSION!
