QRV early mornings most days on 80 metres and any time of the day or night on 6M.
80M set up is a full sized four square antenna system using four x 18m Spiderbeam verticals and and Array Solutions Hybrid controller.
On 6m I have just installed (July 2016) a 4 x 7 ele PowAbeam array with elevation on a SPID BIG-RAS HR controller. This is remote operated by network from the PC in another room.
Located right next to Offas Dyke the QTH is 1200ft asl with a clear takeoff in most directions so excellent for VHF. To the East and West we have a negative horizon so EME contacts at MR and MS are possible on 6 even at 0 degrees elevation.
In the shack the equipment ranges from a 60 year old Collins 74A-4 Receiver/ KWS-1 transmitter pair (known as the Gold Dust Twins) to Elecraft K3's, IC7851 and various transverters for other bands (and of course our own amplifiers from time to time ;) )
View of Cader Idris, 40 miles NW of the QTH. Taken from this QTH with Canon 5D/400mmf4 lens early morning Jan 20th 2016. Yes, we have a clear take off from here! :
My eldest daughter Ella (6) in the shack listening to ZL on 80 meters :)
All QSL's will be replied to 100%. If direct cards have no $ or IRC included then cards will be sent via buro. LOTW is fine too!
I am owner and retailer of amateur radio equipment at http://www.thedxshop.com and manufacturer of Linear Amp amplifiers at http://www.linearamp.co.uk
