My QTH is located about 30 km. North of Rome, the Eternal City, the Capital of Italy.
The area il volcanic and nearby, as you can see in the picture, there are two nices lakes, Bracciano and Martignano, and two former volcanic craters, Baccano and Stracciacappe. My home is on the edge of one of these craters, about 400 meters above sea level in a fully panoramic position. From my patio I can see the sea side and the beautiful landscape of the roman countryside.
The horizon is free for approximately 340°. The best directions are from the North West to the North East, from United States to Japan and throughout the Pacific area via SP, the West and the South West, South America e Pacific LP. The worst direction is the Indian Ocean since I have a hill above me for a hundred feet.
Even my father (I0LIZ now SK) and my brother Bob, IW0CPT, are OM and we participated in some VHF contest from portable location.
Since 1974 my Activity is entirely dedicated to DX and I am DXCC Honor Roll. I miss only P5 because of I was in New Zealand for my job during the activities from that rare country.
