The Liguria award has been closed on the 30th of June 2009 after 38 years, but on the 1st July 2009 a “New Liguria Award “ was created. It is similar to the previous one but uses better graphics and colours . It has also been reduced to A4 size so that every applicant can print the new award. The award is available only using electronic mail. It will be sent only free of charge.

It will be issued keeping the numeration of the old award and therefore the new applications will receive a higher numbers.

The old award has not lost it’s value, and characteristics ; those that have received it in the past can now show it in the shack as it has increased in value particularly for very old dates.


Ligurian ARI Branches, belonging to the provinces of Genova, Imperia, La Spezia and Savona issue the “ Diploma Liguria” for OM and SWL making successful two way contacts or SWL Liguria stations using CW,AM,SSB or Digital Modes, including RTTY, since 1st July 1969 on HF Bands, inc WARC , also 50 Mhz and 144 Mhz Bands. It can be claimed as a fixed station or mobile.

The award is a beautiful ancient style Ligurian Map with the four coats of arms of the provinces and the region.

Contacts or SWL’s can be made also in a mixed modes on different bands but always with different stations, frequency or mode; the one exception are contacts on 50 Mhz and 144 Mhz where QSO cannot be mixed between these bands and the HF bands. All HF or all VHF.

The award can be obtained only via electronic mail and it will be sent in PDF format. Applications must be sent via e-mail with the Log details as JPG (image) or MS Word doc file, or MS Excel xls file, no other files can be accepted. All QSO’s must be confirmed, by QSL card and be in your possession.

Submission of QSL cards is not required but the award manager can request QSL’s if necessary. These QSL’s can be sent as images in format JPG through internet.

The Award has three classes as follows:

Ligurian ARI branches have the right to modify the rules of the present Award or to cancel it.
