I2VGW, GABRIELE VILLA - I was born in Gallarate, North West of Italy, the first May 1955. I  achieved the licence of operator in 1974.  I have graduated in Political Sciences and I started to work (1977), in one of the most important Italian daily national newspaper. As special correspondent I had the opportunity to write about most of the historical events of the recent decades.

Quite a lot years around for the world  have imposed some long breaks to my Ham radio career but they have not prevented me from reaching nice targets: such as the Dxcc Honor Roll (337 Countries)  and Iota Honor Roll.  As an avid dxer I am very found of phone transmission but also of digital ways ( Rtty and Psk)

From July 2005 I am very pleased as a journalist to be the director of the 425DX News , the weekly most popular internet bulletin for serious Ham. I would like to remind some of my dxpeditions: VK9NR (Norfolk island,OC 005)-VK5ASK (Kangaroo island,OC139)

 

                       

 

ID9/I2VGW - IH9/I2VGW - IE9/I2VGW - IG9/I2VGW - TK/I2VGW etc. Time to time I live in Chamonix Mont-Blanc so I have also a french callsign (F5VEK) .

From 8^th to 19^th January 2009 I have taken part  (the only italian ham of the crew) of a multinational team of 24 operators coming from 8 countries to active AF073 Kerkennah island (see please our web site : www.ts7c.net)with the callsign TS7C. By the way TS7C has established the new world record in digi-modes among all over dxped!!  

   

 

                 

 

 

   

               

 

 

 

I’m a member of Ari, Ref, Arrl and Rsgb associations. I ‘m also member, since a long time, of the Clipperton Dx Cub, Northern Californian Dx Foundation, Mediterraneo Dx Club, Russian Robinson Club.My wife Roberta supported with love and patient my hobbies in these years. By the way  I play sax contralto and like to take part in sport and vintage motorbikes events with my two glorious Vespa!

By the way I had great days of fun attending so important ham radio events among the first Contest University helded in Italy in March 2009 with teachers like Tim K3LR and Doug K1DG  (you can see them in the pics...)
