In January 1974, I joined the Italian Navy as NCO student. In September of the same year I was sent on the destroyer Impavido as a student radar operator. In 1976 I was promoted to Petty Officer. In 1978 I obtained my amateur radio license and two years later, duringthe course to gain the permanent service I had the nice surprise to receive the nick i7oxh. From that momentI've always been active on all frequencies until I started using mainlyfrequencies from 50 MHz up to 1200 MHz (without abandoning the HFs). Since 1981 to 1985 I worked on 144 Mhz as 17oxh/MM. In these years I've activated a lot of locator in the Mediterranean Sea.
Here are some of the shipson which I sailed during my service: Destroyer Impavido, Destroyer impetuoso, Destroyer Indomito, Frigate helicopter carrier Virginio Fasan (Head of Combat Operations Center  C.O.C.), Cruiser aircraft carrier Vittorio Veneto (Control Helicopters and airplanes) and finally Corvette Danaide. (Head of Combat Operations Center C.O.C.)
My mainland location: Maricentadd and Maricenprog, in Taranto (Italy).
