I received the IK1PMR full license in 1990. My main ham interest is HF DXing, all bands, all modes. My preferred mode is CW.
Other interests: travelling (I visited most of Europe, USA, Mexico, Caribbeans, six times the Pacific area, Somalia, Benin, South America, Mongolia, India, Hong Kong, etc). I like planning trips (with HF radio) and I try to improve my knowledge of foreign cultures and languages.
I'm a software and information technology specialist. I earned a degree (with honors) and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Torino, Italy. Other interests include the economy and investments.

I'm member of ARI since 1990, but please note that the ARI QSL Bureau will not forward to me the QSLs for DXpeditions (VU4AN/VU3TLY, TY5MR, 9H3MR, CW2C, etc) because this service is not included in the ARI standard subscription (72 euro in 2011).
I operated as member of several DXpeditions and contest operations, but I'm not the QSL manager for many of them, including the following: 4O3T (2006), 6O0CW (2005), IQ1AO (via buro), PH6Q, PI4CC, T33C (2004 via F5CWU), TX4PG (2003 via I2YSB), GB1OTA. Please don't send these QSLs to me.
