I was born in Ragusa in 1963. I’m married to Nancy with whom I have two daughters, Erica and Manuela. I work in Ragusa at the Municipal Offices and specialise in Town Planning. I’ve always lived in this town which has a population of approximately 75,000 people. There have been many films shot at Ragusa, but it became famous due to the TV series Inspector Montalbano. Ragusa is situated amongst hills with an altitude that varies from 480 to 620 metres above sea level. Due to this it sometimes snows in winter, but rarely. Ragusa also finds itself only 20 km from “Marina di Ragusa” which is a hamlet of Ragusa. It faces the Mediterranean sea and is rich with beautiful beaches, filled with tourists and holiday makers during summer. I started transmitting with the radio in 1976 utilising a C.B. until 1983, after which I abbandoned this hobby to dedicate myself to other activities that seemed more interesting at the time. In 1995, I went to a freind’s house, an amatuer radio enthusiast, and his radio station re-awakened my old passion, and thus in that year I equipped myself and started transmitting with new radios. In 1999, I took the exams to become O.M. and started transmitting on the HF band. I mostly utilise the 10-15-20 mt bands, but when the propogation allows, I especially like DXing in the 50 MHz and 144 Mhz bands.
