May I introduce myself? I am ARI (Italian Amateur radio Association) member in the Montagna Pistoiese Club (# 5103), web site www.arimpt.org . I began my activity in radio since 1984 but with different callsigns due to the fact that I lived in a different Italian Region, named Trentino Alto Adige, in a town named Trento. My first callsign was IW3AIO (class "B") since the year 1984 to the year 1989. Finally, after some failed CW tests, in the year 1989 I had the class "A" callsign IN3AYO. Using these two callsigns I have done much activity in VHF Contests specially from a very nice place named Monti Lessini (Lessini Mountais) near the town of Verona at the height of 1.420 m asl with the antenna yagi 20 elements reproduced in the picture above. The picture is enough recent and was shot last 1st of march 2008 just before the beginning of the Trofeo ARI Contest (ARI Challenge Contest) named "Lario".

In the year 1998 I changed Region and Town: now I live in an Italian Region named Toscana (Tuscany) in a town named Pistoia not far from Firenze (Florence); so at the beginning of 1989 my callsign was changed and became the actual IZ5CZU that I didn't like so much. Now I am retired having ended my job life in the year 2006, having reached the age of 60, and now I have much more free time to join radio and VHF-UHF contests. May be that in the future I will try also to join HFs but at the moment I prefer V-UHFs.

Recently I have obtained from the Italian Communication Department (Ministero delle Comunicazioni) a new callsign due to the fact that in my radio club there is one OM friend of mine with the callsign IW5CZU very similar to my one iz5czu. This fact produced sometimes some misunderstandings, especially during the contest activities. For this reason, at the end of the year 2006, I asked for a callsign change. Finally, at the beginning of march 2008, I received the new callsign IZ5AJO (Class "A") that I like very much because it is very similar to my two historic callsigns, iw3aio and in3ayo, I had at the beginning of my OM activity in the far 1984. Many thanks for reading and apologize for the errors in my not so good English. Good luck to all.
