I work from the station
My passion for the contest was founded in 1994, where I was at the station IK8NWK my uncle, and that October he called two other operators cq contest with special callsign IQ8B. In subsequent years, fascinated by the contest, every year I asked my uncle IK8NWK to participate in this great event cq World Wide DX SSB Contest, from 1997 to 1999, he participated in the category with name IK8NWK single op all band high power, always finishing in Italy 2nd place, 1997 points: 912 516, 1998 points: 1.161904, 1999 points: 1.864560. In 2000 he participated in the same category but with special callsign IQ8A always finishing in 3rd place with Italian 1.672.648 with a number of QSO in 2861, while the 1st Italian began to log in 2566 but had more multipliers. In 2001 he participated in the same category but this year it came to a step above in 2nd place with 3725 QSO with Italy and with 2.798.145, the 1st Italian had to log QSOs with 2974 2.945.568 points. In subsequent years, taken from the work I abandoned this world, always keeping in touch with my uncle and his old friends in October 2009 along with a great group of friends I was part of the team in the category IR8A multi two.
In 2010 I met IZ8GCE Franco, a great contesters, a great connoisseur of this world, and in that year we organized to participate in the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest from IG9, Lampedusa, zone 33, places where in the big Team points made by leading the global.
It was an unforgettable experience, with special callsign IG9D participated in one of the most difficult but one of the most beautiful, the 80 meter band, beginning Franco was skeptical about my choice, as a first experience on the road, but I banquet of this set I prepared his great help in this great adventure, taking home more than a memorable experience in: 1st palce high power ssb single op assisted 80 meters Africa, 2nd world, new country records. A great satisfaction!
And the same year since returning from Lampedusa we organized an upcoming contest from my qth IR8C was born . .
