K1DNR Mobile Setup:I use an MFJ-1661 with a 1.5m stainless steel whip - and 10cm (4") spring. I use an FT-857D barefoot, and Vibroplex, K8RA, or NYE Viking paddles strapped to the ashtray. I enjoy operating mobile. I highly recommend replacing the MFJ stock telescoping whip with a stainless steel whip and spring.
Low band verticals, top loaded, base tuned, bandswitched remotely. High bands, dipole with tuned feeder (20/12).
V/U - whips, small quads, yagis.
