Greetings! K1KNM has been operating amateur radio since 1959 when licensed at age fourteen. My confirmed DXCC count is 358 although I stopped submitting cards for awards in 1991. I’ve had the great privilege to operate amateur radio in over thirty different countries and greatly enjoyed the hospitality of those countries. Founding, operating, and eventual sale of an international consulting company preceded early retirement.
QSL INFO: K1KNM will answer all QSLs via the bureau or direct with SASE only. Any QSL with religious or political message will be ignored.
The present QTH consists of ninety five acres at 1,300 feet elevation located in a mountain valley within the “Northeast Kingdom” of Vermont. The property is bordered by almost a mile of trout infested river and contains a six acre natural pond, two constructed trout ponds, and several streams. The heavily forested land is a mixture of hardwood and evergreen trees with the occasional steel radio tower sprouting aluminum!
Our resident friends and transient neighbors include moose, deer, otter, fox, coyote, beaver, black bear, ducks, geese, mink, fisher cat, stoat, wildcat, eagles, hawks, song birds, ravens, as well as our pair of devoted Brittany Spaniels.
Our family has enjoyed a myriad of past and present pursuits that may provide interesting amateur radio conversational topics. These pursuits include long term sailing, hydroplane racing, gardening, motorcycle touring, classic sports car restoration, fishing, fly-tying, antique engine restoration, skiing, snowmobile touring, ATVing, SCUBA diving, wood carving, wood turning, marquetry, parquetry, furniture making, forestry projects, antique collecting, photography, bird watching, aquaculture, wilderness travel, basketry, radio control modeling, portrait/landscape painting,……and some of these were actually successful pursuits!!
Have a nice day!! Ken- K1KNM
