International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend

August 16-17, 2014

Newburyport Harbor Range Front

Newburyport residents and licensed radio amateurs are pleased to participate in this event to promote awareness of the role of lighthouses, radio, and the U.S. Coast Guard in the long maritime history of Newburyport in this, the 250th anniversary of the city.

The Newburyport Harbor Range Front light is located on U.S. Coast Guard Merrimac River Station, and the station is graciously providing us with the opportunity to participate in this historic event.

KC1BBC, KC1AYV, KC1BDD and guests will 'activate' the range light during the event from 0001 to 0100 on Saturday 8/16, and 1600 to 0200 on Sunday 8/17.  We will operate SSB and CW and plan to work 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m as conditions allow.
