With Murphy as my constant companion, I managed to stretch a two week job out across 14 months, but the results seem worth it. The first tower has the LJ 204BA on top and a home brew 3 element, gamma fed for 15, modeled after the Cushcraft 15-3. The second tower has the Cushcraft 10-3 on top with the Hy Gain Discover 72 on bottom. My concern was how the linear loaded antenna would act when we have heavy, wet snow. Discovered the answer during CQ WW SSB in 2011. The SWR jumped up to 4 : 1. First licensed in November, 1957. Just think, more than half a Century, and it is as much fun as ever, maybe more. Below is a photo of some of my ham friends!
