My son Mitchell & I, in Arizona 2012. He is presently in the US ARMY, MOS 91B, Fairbanks AK.

 

I've been involved with Ham Radio since the age of 15 / 1979, my first Novice call was KA1DJQ, State of New Hampshire.

Upgraded to Tech.Plus in Texas / 1986 while in the Navy VF-201 at Naval Air Station,Dallas TX.

Granted the call N5MDM - had that call for about 19 years.

Upgraded to General in the State Michigan on Feb.10th, 2006. I passed my Extra class test,(March 2007) and did vanity my K1WJ call, to go back to my area 1 roots and get a call close to my Dad, Ray W. Crites(sk) K1WW. My brother Dan, now holds that call out of VA. - K1WW

My wife Leanne passed her Tech. test & her call is K8IVY. She is a great operator and fun to have her involved. That's Sexy.

PRESENT HOA ANTENNA SET UP: IVY TOP CAMO J-POLE 2m/440 & 1/4WAVE 20M VERTICAL MFJ-1979 w ONE 4ft ELEVATED 20m 1/4w RADIAL

I dedicate everything I do in Radio to my dad(SK) Ray Crites K1WW. He will be missed by all his friends & family.

Going on two years living in Arizona- love the Sun - so far so good, a lot to do & see.

Active on 2m/440 fm, with Arrow 2,/440 J pole. Also have a Wouxun 2m/220 ht.

I am operating a Yaesu FT-450 into a 20m MFJ-1979 vertical with single 1/4w counterpoise 4ft above ground- Works good!

PRESENT SHACK ROOM - TS-50 / FT-450 / FT-7800R / MC-60 Desk mic / Astron 35M

Presently most active on 2m / 440 &20m.

Common Freq's: Local 2m/220/440 repeaters,146.52, 14.310+-, Look for me calling CQ on 20m.daily.
