Members of the Ole Virginia Hams and the Woodbridge Wireless Amateur Radio Clubs will activate Special Event Station K2H for the Military Vehicle Preservation Association Convoy.

We will be transmitting from several locations during the month of the Convoy On-The-Air Special Event.  The convoy will stage in Pohick Bay Regional Park prior to the start of the road trip.  K2H will operate portable from that location on both 17 and 18 September.  We also plan to operate mobile on Saturday 19 September with the convoy support column until the convoy stops for the night.  At that time we will change from mobile to portable operations for the remainder of the first day.

From 19 September through 17 October, K2H will be operated from several home locations.  K2H may be heard on any amateur band from 160m to 2m, at any time, and using any mode until the convoy arrives in San Diego on 17 October. Current operations are posted on the Convoy-On-The-Air spotter page.

For more information see the BankHead Military Vehicle Convoy On-The-Air Special Event or the Military Vehicle Preservation Association web sites.
