Originally licensed as a novice in the mid 70's as KA2AXF I let my ticket expire in the mid 80's but was again bitten by the ham radio bug. Took the general class license exam in January of 2004 was licensed as WA2ART, and passed my extra exam earlier in 2010 and am now licensed as K2JF. That took about 100 hours of study. Never ever thought that I would become an Extra - love the additional spectrum space particularly on CW. I'm the one on the left. That's Lucy my Portuguese Water Dog on the right. My shack includes the Icom 756 Pro III , Curtis EK-430 keyer and an Astron Power Supply. Up on the roof of my 6 floor NYC apartment building I have a DX EE 10 - 40 meters and an End Fedz for 17 meters. I have membership in ARRL, and FISTS.
