Thank you for looking up K2OF

I was first licensed in 1957 as novice station KN3AFO in Erie, PA. It was a record breaking year for sunspots

My first station consisted of a Heathkit AT-1 transmitter (6L6, 30 watts) and a Heathkit AR-3 receiver

I held call signs K3AFO (Erie, PA), W1GZI (Hudson, NH), and W2ILU (Middletown, NY)

I operated HZ1AB (Dhahran) and HZ1JN (Riyadh) during my 10 years in Saudi Arabia (1986-1996)

I relocated from Tewksbury, MA to Erie, PA in Sep 2010

My favorite band is 10 meters and my modes of operation include SSB, CW, and BPSK 31 with some RTTY

The rig is a Yaesu FT-920 xcvr, ACOM 1000 amp, and a two element SteppIR on a Force 12 Low Profile Tower

Operating awards for K2OF, K3AFO, and W1GZI include:

- DXCC (335 countries)

- CQ WW Contest Award (W3 Top Score on 14 MHz Phone)

- WAS, WAZ, and RCC

73 es gud dxing de John, K2OF
