Click for more detail... Hello from the Putnam Emergency Amatuer Repeater League (PEARL). PEARL was founded in 1980 to provide emergency communications for Putnam County Office of Emergency Management and form a RACES organization. PEARL provides volunteer workers during real and simulated Office of Emergency Management emergencies. Because of this relationship with Putnam County, our club is unique in that we have certain obligations to the county that must be met. One key responsibility of PEARL is to participate in the annual Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant emergency drill. In addition to RACES participation, our members preform a dual role as Putnam County ARES members. PEARL meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 8PM at the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Service Training and Operations Center to conduct business, organize club functions, club activities and to discuss any matters for the good of the club or Amatuer Radio in general. Club meetings are intended to be informative, enjoyable and there are often presentations of educational or general interest topics. We also offer several VE test sessions throughout the year. The PEARL repeater operates on an input frequency of 144.530 MHz with a PL of 136.5Hz input and output and a transmitter frequency of 145.130MHz. The transmitter deviation is limited to 3 KHz to avoid interference with our neighboring repeaters. PEARL also operates a UHF repeater on 445.875 MHz with a minus offset of 5 MHz with a PL of 114.8 Hz. The PEARL repeater is housed in a government complex, along with other government radios, on Mt. Ninham near Carmel, New York at an elevation of 1320 feet and the normal station call is K2PUT. During RACES events the call is K2PC. Arrangements to see the site can be made with the Putnam County RACES Radio Officer (W2AG). Please check out our WebSite www.k2put.org for further details. 73 from the members of PEARL (An ARRL Special Services Club) Last modified: Tue Dec 9 21:05:59 2008 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
