I was first licensed as a Novice in NYC in 1958. Now, with an Extra Class license I operate mostly CW on 40, 30 and 20 meters using a variety of rigs that change from time to time.

Having a 20-year career in the military, I've operated from QTHs in eight states and four countries. Then, after the military, my second career in support of public education took me to two additional states. Now that I'm retired I enjoy writing short stories working as a volunteer for the USO at BWI Airport in Baltimore and most of all meeting fellow Hams on the bands.

My current rigs are a Ten Tec Eagle, Icom IC 7410 and KX3 for HF and a IC 208H for 2-Meter FM(plus several HTs). I have a number of different tuners, power supplies, paddles, keyers and the usual stuff a ham collects in 50+ years of active hamming. I am not a dedicated contestor or DXer. I'm mostly an active, but casual operator, spending 20 to 30 hours a week operating CW on my three favorite bands. I don't seek out DX, but if I hear them, I'll call them.

My current QTH in Baltimore is a typical Rowhouse with a minimal backyard. At the moment my antennas are an ZS6BKW and two Gap mono banders(20 & 40).  I'm always experimenting with antennas.

If you hear me, give me a call. I'll be delighted to chat with you.

Best of 73,

S. I. "Mike"
