K2TPZ

I was first licensed as a Novice in NYC in 1958. I now have an Extra Class license and operate mostly CW on 40, 30 and 20 meters with a variety of rigs. My rigs normally change depending on what I sell and purchase at Dayton each year.

Having a 20-year career in the military, I've operated from QTHs in eight states and four countries. Then, after the military, my second career in support of public education took me to three additional states. Now I am retired and write short stories for the Literary Markets and work as a volunteer for the USO at BWI Airport in Baltimore.

My current rigs are a Ten Tec Eagle, Kenwood TS 590, elecraft KX3 and an Elecraft KX1 for HF and an IC 208H for 2-Meter FM(plus several HTs). I have a number of different tuners, power supplies, paddles, keyers and the usual "stuff" a ham collects in 50+ years of active hamming. I am not a dedicated contestor or DXer. I'm mostly an active, but casual operator, spending 20 to 30 hours a week operating CW on my three favorite bands. I don't seek out DX, but if I hear them, I'll call them, often with success.

My current QTH in Baltimore is a typical Rowhouse with a minimal backyard. My antennas are an 80/40 meter dipole, 20 meter Gap mono bander and a G5RV all packed together at various heights and angles. I'm always experimenting with antennas.

If you hear me, give me a call. I'll be delighted to chat with you.

Best of 73,

S. I. "Mike"
