I was first licensed, Technician Class, in 2008. I upgraded to Extra Class in 2009. I still have a great deal to learn and enjoy the hobby very much. I am a member of the Delaware Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club ( www.dlarc.org ) and enjoy contesting from club station at the “Milk House”. I am also a member Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club and the ARRL. I moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania from San Francisco, California in 1999. Allentown is approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of New York City, near the Appalachian and Pocono mountains. My home station is modest, and like many amateurs, my antenna choices are limited by space. My primary antenna is a multi-band MFJ Hi-Q Loop (40m – 15m). It is mounted on a tripod on my first floor balcony (about 1 meter high). Certainly not the best set up, but I do manage to work Europe most afternoons and early evenings on 20m PSK. Most of my operating activity is HF, using digital modes, on 40m and 20m.
