I was active in the OSCAR Program in the AO-6 and 7 days, with over 1,000 QSO's

USAF/PA ANG 1966-1972. AFSC 30770, "Telecommunications Systems Controller". Attended tech school at Keesler AFB in Mississippi in 1967 and was a member of the Keesler Amateur Radio Club, K5TYP. Discharged as a Tech Sgt. (E-6). Received the "Pennsylvania Service Medal" for duty during Hurricane Agnes in 1972.
I am retired, having worked 40 years in the world of "precision frequency control" either with quartz crystal oscillators, frequency/time standards or quartz crystals. I have been associated with Greenray Industries, the former Piezo Crystal Company, the former CTS-Reeves and Techtrol Cyclonetics. I have authored several published industry papers on performance issues of quartz crystals and precision crystal oscillators.
I am married to Barbara, who is a retired high schol English teacher (she taught for almost 30 years), since 1972. We have two sons and two grandsons. My dad was K3UKO (SK) The Central PA Contest Club now holds that call.
I also hold an FCC General Class Radiotelehone License (former First Class)
