I was first licensed as a novice as WN3KPP in 1967 at the age of 15 and upgraded to general about 6 months later with the call WA3KPP. I have always had an interest in operating CW. I spent many years operating VHF/UHF as part of a contesting group with the call of K3MTK. We operated from a high location in the Pocono mountains and ran many June VHF contests from there.

I took a break from the hobby for a few years and when I came back, I got into serious HF contesting. I upgraded to Extra and got my current vanity call of K3ZV. I joined the Frankford Radio Club and have operated from some of the clubs biggest stations (N3AD, K3NM, N2RM, K2AX). I still enjoy CW much more than phone contesting.

Right now, my interests are in HF digital modes. You will now find me using PSK-31 on several HF bands along with WSPR.

The current station consists of a Yaesu Ft-980 and a half size G5RV antenna. I want to improve the antenna soon.

I hope to work you on the bands one of these days.
