My interest in amateur radio came from watching my uncle k4heb (in my uncle's memory I now work with his old call sign) and cousins k4zg and kp4kd work the world on CW back in the 70's. Thanks to them and their help I earned my first novice license back in 1974. At this time I work with 600w and a Zero Five 10 to 40 Meters groundplane vertical antenna (very nice antenna indeed) up 25 feet high. 73's and I hope to find you further down the log. Good DX!

If you have not uploaded you logbook to LOTW try it, you will not regret it!

Xcvr is a Kenwood TS450S

Amplifier is an Ameritron AL-811H

Antenna is a ZeroFive ground plane vertical 10 to 40 meters

We call the owl Oscar! The pictures of the owl were taken by my wife.

The Antenna.

The shack.

I also enjoy fishing! This is a Goliath Grouper (between 250 to 275 Lbs) and he was released back to sea safely.
