"Welcome to the Great Outdoors Radio Club. This club was formed so all amateur radio operators who love the outdoors would have a place to call home. The only requirements to join this club are that you must hold a valid amateur radio license and sometimes operate portable away from your home QTH.

Hike if you like. Drive in if you don't. It doesn't matter. What matters most is that you find fun ways to tickle the ether from your favorite outdoor location. Hundreds of peaks, parks, trails, backyards and summits await  activation.

The rules for operating are simple:

  • Use any power level allowed within the terms of your license class.
  • Use any mode allowed within the terms of your license class.
  • Operate from the Great Outdoors as often as you can.
  • Have Fun
  • Be safe
  • Leave your Great Outdoor site cleaner than you found it.
