The Murray State University Amateur Radio Club (MSUARC)

OUR MISSION: "To provide and conduct programs and activities that promote interest in Amateur radio within the Murray State University campus and the community of Murray-Calloway County Kentucky, and that advance the knowledge, abilities, and welfare of the membership in their enjoyment of ham radio."

A well-equipped station is available in the MSU IET-Department Radio Lab in the Industry & Technology Building, that has both VHF and HF operating positions. HF operations include Field Day, contests, and special events as well as general operating and experimentation. The I&T Building is designated as Calloway County backup EOC. The MSUARC meets in this building the first Tuesday of each month. More info on the club web site.

 

Other Operations:

2 Meter repeaters--MSUARC operates the following 2 meter repeater sites:

      Murray, KY - 146.940/.340 MHz, PL Tone 91.5 Hz. Located on MSU's campus on the Fine Arts building.

     Hamlin, KY - 147.240/.840 MHz, PL tone 91.5 Hz. The Hamlin repeater is located in southeast Calloway County and covers the central and southern part of Kentucky Lake and the Land Between the Lakes recreational area well. The callsign for this repeater is the club's second callsign, W4GZ.

 

440 MHz repeater-- MSUARC operates the following 440 MHz repeater:

     Murray, KY - 443.800/448.800 MHz, PL tone 114.8 Hz. EchoLink node #207370 is connected to this repeater.  Located on the MSU campus on Faculty Hall.

 

APRS Digipeater nodes--

     K4MSU-3 in Murray.  Located on the Fine Arts building.

     K4MSU-5 in Lyon County, northern LBL, at WKMS-FM transmitter site.

Both operate on 144.390MHz and support the WIDEn-n protocol.

 

2 Meter Net: Monday nights at 9:00 PM on our 146.940/.340 MHz repeater.

Weather Net: on 146.940/.340 as required during severe weather conditions.
