Got started in Oct. 2006 thanks to a little push from Barry Sr. N3PG (dear old Dad). Also help from Ed KN4KL, Bill W4WV, Gordon KU4EC, the gang at the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Club, the Virginia DX Radio Club, the Virginia Beach Amateur Radio Club, Denny KB3MJ in Rehoboth Beach,DE ("The Most Fun Amateur Radio Operator on Delmarva") and "Uncle" Frank KD4JJU. Member of: The Virginia Beach Amateur Radio Club, SouthCars Voip Net (member #E0045) on Echolink (SCARS Conference, node 96140) Saturday's @ 9am (et), The Rooster Net (member #1230) on 3.990mhz @ 6am (et) 365/yr, Sunbelt Service Net on 3.990mhz M-F @ 8pm (et), regular check-in (but not an offical member) on the SARA VHF net via Echolink (KB3MJ-L or KB3PML-L) thru the 147.075 repeater in Milford, DE Tuesday's @ 8pm (et) and the U.S. Coast Guard net on 14.300mhz Saturday's @ 12noon (et). Also, when time and band permits, I try to check into the Navy Amateur Radio Club net on 7.245mhz @ 7am (et) 365/yr. Catch me on any of the 2m repeaters in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads VA area. Equipment: Yaesu FT-890 @ 100watts w/ an MD-100 mic and a inverted-V dipole up about 35 ft in the old pine tree beside the house. Radio Shack HTX-212 @ 45watts and a CushCraft AR270 2m/440 vert. only up about 15 ft. Icom V-8000 @ 75watts for mobile. Also operate the same equipment on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (in my Studio B, the vacation station) with a homebrew dipole and a combination of a homebrew J-pole and a CushCraft A27010S 5 element 2m/440 beam.
