Hi! de "BILL" and my previous call was--K4QCD. K4WP was granted to me on March 29, 2005. The previous holder was Harry Bloechle, SK December 16, 2002. Did not have a chance to meet Harry, but Hams that knew him, that I have talked to on the air have said many nice things about him. I hope to continue the tradition of K4WP. After living in the Savannah Ga. area since '74, I moved in March 2010 to a new QTH on a 5 acre tract about 30 miles west of Savannah. Working conditions: Elecraft K3 driving an Acom 2000A. Added an Elecraft KPA500 amp to the shack in Dec 2011. Primary antenna is a DB18 SteppIR which is a 3 element antenna (6 to 40m, with 2 elements on 40) on a 70 ft US Tower tublar crankup. Have a 55 ft tublar tower with a 5 EL, 10m yagi on a 24 ft boom by Hy-Gain. Also have a 80 meter, 67 ft. freestanding vertical by Zero 5 with 90, 66-67 ft. radials (6,000l/f of wire). This was my first big vertical install project and did NOT know just how much time it would take to put down all those radials! In Jan. 2013, a "Sky Loop" was added to my antenna inventory. It could best be described as an unequal octagon, about 635 ft long with an average height of about 45 ft., feed with 450 ohm ladder line into the shack into a Palstar BT1500Atuner. All antennas are controled by Array Solutions "Rat Pak" Lost my dear wife Anne, of 32 years to Multiple Myeloma cancer in April, 2006 and retired in June the same year to enjoy this wonderful hobby an be a "Dog Daddy" to my 4 legged children!!! Thanks for looking us up! 73 Bill, K4WP Last modified: 2013-04-20 01:08:47, 1665 bytes cached
