Click for more detail... QSL: Direct, Bureau or LOTW I am a 66 year old newcomer to Ham Radio. Passed the Technician exam in June, 2006, the 5 WPM CW in November, 2006, the General Class exam in February, 2007, and the Extra Class exam in May, 2008. Since I am a retired CPA with no previous radio or electrical experience, studying for these was a learning experience. My radio is an Icom 746 with a Cushcraft R5 antenna for 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 meters and a horizontal loop antenna for 20, 40 and 80 meters. We live in a deed restricted subdivision, so future antenna options will be limited. My wife and I have been married for 39 years. My other hobbies are running (3 marathons so far), fantasy baseball (a fun hobby if you are a baseball fan) and gardening. I have found Ham Radio to be a very enjoyable hobby with lots of good people involved. I am a member of the Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club (BVARC). Also, OMISS Number is 5908 and Ten Ten Number is 74567. Wish I would have started in ham radio many years ago. 73, Arnold (license in my first name, John, but I go by my middle name, Arnold) Last modified: Wed Dec 30 11:06:14 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
