I was first licensed in 1961 as KN5GKC (Novice Class) in Bloomfield, NM while a junior in high school. I upgraded to Conditional Class (equivalent of General Class) during my senior year (1962) and have been active in the hobby from that time.  Over the years I upgraded to Advance Class and finally to Extra Class. I am now retired and have a lot of time to devote to ham radio.

I caught the DX Bug back in the 1970s and am currently a member of the DXCC Honor Roll (Phone & CW) and also 9 Band DXCC.
