PLEASE NOTE THAT K5KV IS QSL MANAGER FOR  --FS/N3KS--- ONLY FROM A DECADE OLD OPERATION.   NO I AM NOT MANAGER FOR N3KS EITHER.  PLEASE IGNORE ALL QSL MANAGER LISTS WITH MY CALL FOR ANY OTHER STATION.    MY APOLOGIES IF YOU FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!

I UPLOAD DAILY TO LOTW.  TWO CLICKS AND ITS DONE.  IF YOU NEED MY STATE, COUNTY ETC, PLEASE UPLOAD TO LOTW.  IT IS FREE AND EASY.  I DO IT WITH LINUX.  YOU CAN DO IT WITH WINDOWS OR MAC ALSO.  EQSL IS NOT SO EASY AND IT HAPPENS ABOUT MONTHLY, SO BE PATIENT FOR EQSLS.

I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR LOTW CONFORMATION MORE THAN YOUR EXPENSIVE QSL CARD.   DIRECT QSL CARDS WITH POSTAGE, ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND LOTW CONFIRMATION ARE PROMPTLY RETURNED.  BUREAU CARDS WITH LOTW CONFIRMATION ARE ALSO PROMPTLY RETURNED VIA BUREAU.  OTHERS GO IN THE RAINY DAY STACK.

THE BUG AT THE TOP IS MY MOST USED THESE DAYS.  IT IS A TELEGRAPH APPARATUS CO MODEL 510 MADE ABOUT THE END OF WWII.  I UNDERSTAND TED MCELROY HAD A PART IN THIS COMPANY.  IT SEEMS SMOOTHER TO ME THAN MY MAC BUG AND MOST VIBROPLEXES.

DOWN NEAR BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IS THE INTERESTING LIGHTNING BUG I HAVE HAD FOR DECADES.  IT WAS MADE ABOUT 1975 AT 833 BROADWAY.  IT APPEARS TO BE A STANDARD MODEL WITH GREY BASE AND BLACK HANDLES.  I HAD TO ADD THE GROUNDING STRAP BECAUSE THE BEARNINGS AND PIVOT ARE THE DELUXE JEWELLED VERSION.  THE SPRING IS NOT A GOOD GROUND PATH.  MY GUESS IS THE DELUXE PARTS WERE LEFT OVER FROM THE DELUXE MODEL PRODUCTION?  IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS COMBINATION BUG, PLEASE EMAIL ME.

THE WEIGHT HAS THE FACTORY NUT REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH AN 1/8 INCH ROD THAT IS THREADED ON ONE END.  THE BRASS NUT WAS SCREWED ONTO THE ROD TO FUNCTION AS THE FASTENER FOR THE WEIGHT.  THE ROD STICKING UP ALLOWS ANY ROUND BUG WEIGHT FOR VIBROPLEX  OR VIZ BUGS TO BE DROPPED ON WITHOUT ANY FUMBLING TO QRS.  THE THREE WEIGHTS IN THE BACKGROUND ARE A MEDIUM VIBROPLEX, VIZKEY AND HEAVY HEX WEIGHT.  A STACK OF 1/8 INCH FENDER WASHERS COULD WORK.  THIS BUG IS FOR THOSE TIMES WHEN A QRS CAN NOT BE AVOIDED.  THE MEDIUM VIBROPLEX WEIGHT IS ABOUT 19 WPM.  THE VIZ WEICHT IS ABOUT 15 WPM AND THE LARGE HEX WEIGHT IS ABOUT 10 WPM.  MY ROD IS A BIT LONG BUT I CAN STACK TWO WEIGHTS FOR EXTREME QRS WITH A BUG.  SHOWS HOW MUCH I HATE TO USE A STRAIGHT KEY.
