First Licensed as a Novice in 1998 as KD5DZG , applied for Vanity Call K5MMH in 1999 after upgrading to General.

Rig is an Elecraft K2 (S/N 3010) with the following options : KPA100 (100 watt amp.) , KAF2 (Audio Filter) , KSB2 (SSB option) , K160RX (160 meter/Rcv. Ant.) , KAT100 (100 watt ATU) , KNB2 (Noise Blanker) , and KRC2 (Band Decoder/Antenna Switch Relay Driver). This is my second K2 that I have built, the first (S/N 1270) was sold in 2002. Heil ProSet is used for SSB. I use a Bencher Paddle connected to a Logikey CMOS4 keyer for CW.

Antennas currently used are a Force12 40XK Vertical Dipole ( 10m thru 40m ), and Monoband Verticals for 30m and 40m. I enjoy experimenting with different antennas and their construction.

My primary interest is chasing DX on all HF bands, CW and SSB modes. Achieved DXCC # 43870 in June 2010. I am working toward 5BDWAS as well as increasing my CW speed. I am 51 years old and look forward to many years of Amateur Radio fun. I QSL 100% on all received cards (SASE appreciated) and upload to LoTW regularly.
