Former and first holder of this call from 1953 - 2008 was Herbert R. Graves (1914-2005). Originally from Texas, Herb moved to 5465 Bohemian Way, Sebastopol, CA, where he held W6JMO from 1951-1952. In 1953 K6EE is first listed in Mariposa, in 1954 in Oakland, 1955 not listed, 1957-59 in Quincy, 1961-62 in Coleville. In 1966 Herb settled down in Pine Grove from where K6EE could be heard on shortwave in CW and SSB until 2005. Further he served as ARRL VEC.
