Click for more detail... First licensed in 1952 as W7VSI. Received K6JMZ in 1955 and have held it ever since. I have also held an FCC First Class Radiotelepone ticket, and an FCC Radiotelegraph Ticket with Radar Endorsment. Used to copy 45 WPM with ease, but am now down to about 25-30 wpm. I spent 26 years in the U.S. Navy serving aboard both large surface ships and for 8 years on the old World War II type submarines as chief radio operator. Retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1977 and have been living in American Fork, Utah, U.S.A. ever since. Worked for twelve years as a prison guard, for five years as a long haul truck driver, and for fifteen years as a salesman in fine jewelry, (Diamonds etc.) and two years for Micron Corp. producing memory chips. I am now fully retired. My wife Shirley and I have been married for 54 years, and have three children, eleven grandchildren, and three great grand children. Our oldest grandchild (a granddaughter) is a professor of anthropology at the University of Utah. Besides ham radio, I enjoy computers, reading, photography and flying.
