I got my tech license in August of 2011 and upgraded to General three weeks later. I was interested in amateur radio in high school but I was never able to master the code sufficiently to get my license. Forty years later, I finally got my license after seeing Bob Heil on TWIT.TV. Now I am interested in public service activities with ARES and learning to be of service in the event of the next local disaster.
