I got my tech license in August of 2011 and upgraded to General three weeks later. I was interested in amateur radio in high school but I was never able to master the code sufficiently to get my license. Forty years later, I finally got my license after seeing Bob Heil, K9EID, and Leo LaPorte, W6TWT, on TWIT.TV. Now I am interested in public service activities with ARES and learning to be of service in the event of the next local disaster.

On Jan 7, 2014, I was apppointed EC of the Loma Prieta ARES group, so I score an extra 12 points for you in the ARRL Centenial QSO party when you use LOTW to QSL our contact!

On March 1st, 2014, I passed the Amateur Extra Class Exam and I will keep this callsign.


Currently, I am running a Drake TR-7 off a Buckmaster 80/75m-40m-20m-17m-12m-10m-6m OCF Dipole. The Yaesu FT101B has been set aside in a closet since the acquisition of the Drake


A litter of pups, and a couple of our older PDLs. Sadly, both departed now, but we still have a few of the offspring.
