Hello from Oregon,
My wife and I are both amateurs,and we are active in our club here in CoosBay Oregon. , .Also have a yaesu FT-1000D that we run on 10 15 and 20 meters thru a alpha 76a into a wilson 4 element beam.we also have a kenwood 570that we run into a160-10 meter windom .For six and 2 meter ssb we have a ten-tec 526 with small 2 and 6 meter amps that works well for us. .My wife is a extra class Ham and her call is K7MXA. .I thank my wife Debbie for helping me pass the code.When I took my general test you had to pass the code to get your upgrade to general.She worked with me every day for several weeks and I passed.We enjoy the hobby very much.I am good on e-qsl . Our elevation is100 ft above sea level.we are about 3 blocks from the bay, and half mile from the ocean. I am active with over the hill gang net on 14321 mon-friday,and also with the alaska pacific emergency preparedness net on 14292' I am also active on the oregon emergency net on 3980 and the columbia basin net on 3960.Also like making contacts with other hams and rag chew.we enjoy 6 meters when the band is open.All in all I just plain enjoy the hobby. The picture that you see, is my wife Debbie(the jungle woman) riding the elephant at the Coos County fair in Myrtle Point oregon.I also was in the navy 1960-1964. was at mirimarNaval Air station and then aboard the USS Epperson DD-719. I am proud that I was a Tin Can sailor the black shoe navy. the pictures of the pick up is my friend Larry,he built the pickup from the ground up. Did all the work himself in his shop. Turned out nice. Got a nice plaque at the show and shine at shore acres state park overlooking the pacific ocean just a few miles from charelston oregon.the picture with the hot dog is k7mxa showing off a hot dog hat she made for our ham fest director when making presentions for prizes.The picture of Debbie and the snake was also taken at the Coos County fair.My little dog petie, our little darling is 15 years old, but still goingstrong for a old man.Right outside our shack window a little yearling feeding on some goodies. He was a very special little guy we are going to miss him very much. I regret to say that I lost my friend Larry on 7/23/12. He put up a good fight, but lost his fight with cancer. Larry is the gentleman that I'am standing with in the picture with the red pickup that he built.,and the pictureof Debbie and Larry also. The first picture is Debbie on the 4 th july , was taken by our motor home at sunset beach state park a few miles from our home a update. 12-12-12 Debbie retired from the Hospital. She has lots of things planned to do.happy retirement to my wife Debbie.The two pictures of my ship are from 1962.my ship uss epperson dd-719 gearing class destroyer.Thepicture in a storm was on the edge of a typhoon in the sea of Japan. The other was when we went to dry dock for a fram1 The ship was here when I left for discharge at the end of 1963.This is what the epperson looked like when it was finished with fram 1 . To bad that the ship was later sold to pakistan and changed its name to Taimur pns dd-166 in1977 and later was sunk.by PAKISTAN as a target in march 2000.the only good thing is it is a reef now for fish.the first picture is last year lighthouse day at umqua light house at winchester bay oregon. had lots of fun.Today there was a nice fat deer in our front yard so I got a picture of her.7/27/13.
