I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and licensed in May 1959 as novice KN4FXT in Atlanta, GA at the age of 14 and later that year as K4FXT. Issued K7VAY in Bellevue, WA in 1962 and have held this call since. My Father was K7EUQ in Anchorage before WW2 when Alaska was K7. He was with the Alaska Communications System from 1931 to 1953. I've had some other calls along the way including K7ZRQ Ellensburg WA, TA2CA Istanbul Turkey, KH6GOV Honolulu HI, HS2AKP U Tapao Thailand, DA2AA Berlin, Bad Aibling and Vockenhausen Germany, C31UI La Rabassa Andorra and 7J8AAC Wakkanai Japan. Lots of portable ops here and there including my favorites Rhodes Greece as K7VAY/SV5, DA2AA/HB0 in Triesenberg Liechtenstein and DA2AA/OE in St. Anton am Arlberg Austria where we used to ski often. I am retired U. S. Air Force from the electronic intelligence (ELINT) specialty in 1988 and the Air Force Services Agency in 2010 with a total of 21 years living and working overseas. The XYL is also retired from the USAF in the same work. I spend much of my time looking for USA counties with USA-CA #998 all counties/mixed modes and USA-CW #88 all counties worked CW, grid squares on VHF and DX goodies. Maybe I've run across some of you over the years. I am a 1972 graduate of California State University in Chico. Y ddraig goch ddyry cychwyn. 73, Pat
