Saba

From October 10 - 23, 2010, I was privileged to operate with the PJ6A team that made the first QSO's from a new DXCC country (the island of Saba, approximately 30 miles south of the island of St. Maarten) following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles. Details can be found here: http://www.pj6a.com

THE QSL MANAGER FOR THE PJ6A OPERATION IS N4NX .

I SUPPORT THE DX CODE OF CONDUCT ! ! !

I was licensed as KN8EAB in February of 1957, and upgraded to General Class in October of that same year. I'm primarily a CW operator, always chasing DX. I've assembled kit rigs (K2, KX1, SST, as well as numerous Heathkits in the 50's, 60's, and 70's). I always take ham equipment with me when I travel. I've operated from vacation cabins, hotels, lighthouses, the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, St. Martin, St. Lucia (twice), Saba, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados, and from hi-rise apartment buildings, a pontoon boat, mountain tops, park picnic tables, etc.

My second transmitter, the Heathkit DX-100 . aptly named,

since it weighed 100 pounds! I'm 16 and my kid-sister is 3.

I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1967. I flew jet training and attack aircraft for the Navy for 6 years. In February of 1974, the XYL and I and our two sons moved to metro Atlanta to begin civilian life and we've been here ever since.

December 8, 2012 - 113th Meeting

Navy 17 - Army 13 (Navy's 11th Win In A Row ! ! !)

The Midshipmen now lead the series 57-49-7

I owe my passion for this hobby to my "Elmer", Bill Fearnley - W8VII, seen below in his shack in White Sulphur Springs, WV with two other ham friends.
