Click for more detail... The Keweenaw County Radio Association is a club of people interested in providing a 2-meter repeater to Keweenaw County, Michigan's northernmost county. The organization was formed to: 1) To provide an auxiliary communications system for local law-enforcement and military agencies. 2) To fill a communications gap that exists, due to the topography of Keweenaw County. 3) To augment local civil defense agencies. 4) To provide assistance to boaters on Lake Superior. 5) To provide a communications system for locating lost persons. 6)To promote interest in amateur radio communications, the relaying of messages without charge, the furtherance of the public welfare and the advancement of the radio art. The 147.315 MHz with a PL 100.0 Hz repeater is located at the site of the former Calumet Air Force Station, on Mt. Horace Greeley at an elevation of 1580 feet above sea level.
