Ham Radio Interests: First licensed at KN9LZJ in 1958. With K9SG & K9XV, the building of a contest station in Greenfield, IN. Present interest in SDR technology and magnetic loop antenna's. Active on digital modes, and the implementation of remote control of amateur radio stations. Many of my contacts are made from my home 8 miles from the remote station that includes a K3, TS2000, 5 band quad, 3 el steppIR, 4 sq 40 meter array, and vhf/uhf beams on 40, 56, 80 and 150 ft towers. Outside interests include island travel mixing ham radio, with diving and making new friends. Spend winters in Perth, AU with my daughter, her husband and my wife. I operate my remote station from Perth, AU allowing me to continue my ham radio operations 24,000 miles away from home. Have fell in love with AU and all of it's people. Other than ham radio I love all aspects of health care delivery including medical instruments. Past activies include holding senior administration roles in large health care systems. The remote station I operate is part of the Innovations in DX and Contesting, LLC club made up to K9SG, K9SV, and WB9YCZ. The Club Call is W9VW, please see it's QRZ page. A picture of the club station location and antenna's is attached this page. In the fall of 2015 we will be putting up a new Rohn 55G 150 ft rotating tower that will hold beams for 40, 20 and UHF/VHF operation. In the spring of 2016 a 100 ft tower will be installed. This station can be completely operated from any remote location within the world, including my daughers home in Perth, AU.
