I thank my grandfather (KA9EEU) SK for teaching me basic electronic theory and Morse code. I passed my Novice examination because of his influence in 1979 then upgraded to General in 1981 while still in high school. Furthermore, I want to honor my Electronic's teacher Mr. Alexander Kubyako, (Sharon Senior High School ) who is also SK for allowing "The Novices" access to WB3CSO, Sharon High School ARC during study halls and summer months.

Both men influenced and helped shape my life long passion for Amateur Radio.

I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1982 and retired in 2002. Currently, I work at Scientific Drilling Applied Technology Center located in Paso Robles, California as an Electronic Technician II, and enjoy every minute at the test bench.

The ARRL Novice Round-up was my first RadioSport contesting event thereafter -- the thrill remained constant.

Currently, I live in a small beach community located along the Central Coast of California (KA3DRR/6). Our dense urban location and home owner association rules precludes many types of antenna systems. I operate low-power, low-profile at 100 watts using a Kenwood TS850S or Yaesu FT100 mobile tranceiver into either a three band trapped vertical or off-center-fed Buddipole.

KA3DRR has logged 25,827 QSOs since 2007, confirming 13,023 LoTW credits, 2,801 eQSL confirmed, and 941 Grid Square Locators confirmed.

I enjoy Morse code and primarily operate this mode on all bands. I look forward to meeting each of you throughout our RadioSport contesting season. Best DX and contest results from KA3DRR's low-power, low-profile condo RadioSport station.

Operated from the following locations -- Sharon, Pennsylvania (1979-1982); KA3DRR/DV2 Clark Air Base Republic of the Philippines (1985-1987); KA3DRR/0 Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota (1989-1990); Shell Beach, California (2007 - Present).

Guest operate at John Baer, W6SL shack in Aroyyo Grande, California or Satellite Amateur Radio Club, W6AB clubhouse on Vandenberg AFB.
