I thank my grandfather (KA9EEU) who is now a silent key for teaching me basic electronic theory and Morse code. I passed the Novice examination because of the influence of my grandfather in 1979 then upgraded to General in 1981 while in high school. I want honor my Electronic's teacher Mr. Alexander Kubyako (Sharon Senior High School) who is now a silent key for allowing 'The Novices' to operate the club station WB3CSO during study halls. I enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1982 and retired in 2002. My first RadioSport event was the Novice Round-up in the early 1980s thereafter; the thrill remained constant. Currently, I live in a small beach community located along the central coast of California (KA3DRR/6). Our dense urban location and home owner association rules precludes many types of antenna systems. I operate low-power, low-profile at 100 watts using a Kenwood TS850S or Yaesu FT100 mobile tranceiver into either a three band trapped vertical with an above ground counterpoise system comprised of 25 quarter wavelength radials or Buddipole. KA3DRR has logged 20,482 Qs since re-entering our stellar hobby in 2007 while confirming 8,730 LoTW credits and 2,801 eQSL confirmed. I enjoy the art of Morse code and primarily operate this mode on all bands. I look forward to meeting each of you throughout our RadioSport season. Best DX and contest results from KA3DRR's low-power, low-profile condo RadioSport station. Operated from the following locations -- Sharon, Pennsylvania (1979-1982); KA3DRR/DV2 Clark Air Base Republic of the Philippines (1985-1987); KA3DRR/0 Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota (1989-1990); Shell Beach, California (2007 - present).
