My birthday happens to be December 25, I am a retired Architect, married to Teresita for 50 years on July 3, 2009. She is undergrad in Engineering, was a teacher in Royden School in Hongkong where she teaches English, Mathematics and Music. She is a piano teacher too. We are blessed with 4 children, the eldest son a professor in English in Changchun University in China. Married to a pure Chinese lady, they gave me a Chinese/Filipino grand daughter. My second is a daughter, K6XTY, Interior Design grad, married to W6MOS, now a retired US Navy officer. They gave me three grands, a girl and two boys. The eldest Son is now married to half an American/Filipina and made me a Great Grand Pa to three (3) beautiful great granddaughters. They are stationed in Japan as my grandson is with the US Air Force. My grand daughter from my daughter is also a ham operator with a callsign, KI6RRH. My third, a son, still a bachelor is WA2LOG, Quantity Surveyor to a construction firm, now a permanent resident of New Rochelle New York, do not want to get married. He is scared by the word " Divorce" He is now 46 years old. My youngest is a Structural Civil Engineer, Authorized person, graduated from Hong Kong University, with a Masters degree in Seismic. I have three (3) grandsons from him, all born in Hong Kong, are consistent top in their classes. The second grandson who graduated recently is Cum Laude. The family of my youngest son are now in Canada with an immigrant status.So, My family is composed of Nationalities from China, Hongkong, America, Canada Japan and the Philippines. We are a mini United Nation. I earned my first Philippines radio operator's license on February 2004 as DY1VGA. It was upgraded on 2005 to be DW1VGA. On 2006, I was in the USA and took the technician's exam and passed it with a perfect score. In my desire to be in HF, I took the General exam on February 2008 and again made a perfect score. My rigs for 2 meters are, IC-V82 (portable) IC-2100 Icom FM Transceiver, IC-V8000 Icom and TM-271A Kenwood. Presently my HF/50mhz transceiver is FT-950. My Antenna is home brewed, simple inverted V. I am active also on Echo Link, Skype with an ID KA6SAL887, and on CQ100. My other interests are Fishing, Dancing and Bowling. I Am still learning more about Ham Radio through the experiences shared by our fellow hams and friends on the air by way of QSO. Am happy that in Ham Radio, I met countless good friends around the world. My friendship to all is always a feeling that will never grow old. It is always warm, loving and sincere.I just hope it stays that way forever and not abused by insincerity.
