First licensed as KA8OKC in November 1981. Upgraded to general in June 1982 at the FCC office in Detroit MI, then my Advanced in May 1983 at Dayton Hamvention® and Extra class in June 1999. Retired from the U.S. Air Force with 37 years of service. Twenty years military as an aircraft maintenance crew chief and supervisor for B-47E, B-52G, KC-135A and C-130A/B/E aircraft. Then 17 years civil service as a configuration and program manager for the acquisition of F-16 aircraft. Am a member of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA) and the Huber Heights Amateur Radio Club. I operate two-meter and 70 cm FM, APRS and D-STAR as well as the HF bands both fixed and mobile.
