First licensed as KA8OKC in November 1981. Upgraded to general in June 1982 at the FCC office in Detroit MI, then my Advanced in May 1983 at Dayton Hamvention® and Extra class in June 1999. Retired from the U.S. Air Force with 37 years of service. Twenty years military as an aircraft maintenance crew chief and supervisor (AFSC 43199) for B-47E, B-52G, KC-135A and C-130A/B/E aircraft. Then 17 years civil service as a configuration and program manager for the acquisition of F-16 aircraft. Am a member of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association (DARA) and serve as chairman on one of the Hamvention committees. I operate two-meter and 70 cm FM, APRS and D-STAR as well as the HF bands both fixed and mobile. I also enjoy talking with my fingers (CW). Married with four children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
