Thank you for looking me up on QRZ!

I am using a Kenwood TS-480SAT HF transceiver w/ a Hy-Gain AV-640 vertical antenna and homebrew 10M & 20M dipoles. My backup rig is a Kenwood TS-180S. I also use a Yaesu FT-2800M 2M FM from the home QTH and a Yaesu 2M/70cm FM dual-bander from the car. Portable operation (Lake Wisconsin) occurs with a Kenwood TS-480SAT HF transceiver and either a Gap Titan DX vertical or a ladder-line fed random dipole.

Additionally, I have two Softrock Ensemble SDR receivers that often run CW Skimmer and WSJT-X on various bands.

I enjoy operating JT-65, PSK-31, RTTY and CW digital modes and sometimes SSB. I will eQSL (AG) immdediately, upload to LOTW at least once a week and respond to all paper QSLs.

KA0BZK (Rich) helped me get my Novice and Technician license in 1985 while I was at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  I was very active on 40M CW at the UW-Madison club station, W9YT, for several years. I was effectively off the air until 2009 when I "rediscovered" the hobby. In 2009, I upgraded to General and shortly thereafter to Extra.
